Growing up, we had pierogies for dinner quite often. I never thought about adding them to the family meal plan until I was pregnant with Liam. I woke up one morning and I just had to get frozen pierogies to make with Polish Sausage. I even picked up applesauce and sour cream to dip them in! No idea where it stemmed from, but ever since they’re a highly requested meal!
Frozen pierogies come in various flavors, but the Four Cheese is our go-to. Not any sausage will do, we love Klement’s Polish variety. They remind me of homemade sausages I’ve had from a restaurant back in Madison. They are seasoned perfectly too!
I’ve been trying to do better when it comes to meal planning with our busy schedule. It kind of all went out the window with the holiday season hustle and bustle. For meal planning ideas, prep day tips and more, check out my new Facebook group!

Easy dinner idea the whole family will enjoy...it's simple with sausage, peppers and onions, plus frozen pierogies!
- 14 oz Klement's Polish Sausage cut into 1/3rds
- 1 whole white onion thinly sliced
- 1 whole green bell pepper thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp grill seasoning I love Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute
- 16 oz frozen 4-cheese pierogies (about 12)
- Sour cream & Applesauce for a side.
-
In a large pan, add 1 tablespoon of oil. Allow to heat over medium-high.
-
Add onions and peppers. Cook for about 2-3 minutes.
-
Carefully add the frozen pierogies to the pan, stirring frequently. Add the sausage to the pan. Allow to cook for 8-10 minutes, until golden brown.
-
Once the pierogies are cooked through, season pan with grill spice. Serve immediately with applesauce and sour cream.
This looks great! I never thought about having pierogies and sausage together. Will be trying this out sometime soon.
