Jamaican Painkiller with Chila ‘Orchata Rum

Disclaimer: I was provided Chila ‘Orchata rum to create this recipe, but all opinions are my own. This recipe is for people 21+. Please drink responsibly…aka, this drink is STRONG.

Make any day a vacay with this new twist on a Jamaican Painkiller. It’s a perfect sunny day drink–but watch out! They’re tasty…and strong.

Pinapple & Rum Jamaican Painkiller using Chila Orchata! Make any day a vacay with this drink! YUM!Yay! It’s Friday! Anyone else having a WEEK? I am so ready to relax and enjoy one or two of these Painkillers.  If only I could be on a tropical vacation right now! Four years ago, Ricky and I had our honeymoon in Mexico. Our anniversary wasn’t quite as exciting yesterday, but the weather is beautiful at least! The forecast for this weekend looks fab and I plan on making up a batch of these FOR SURE.

I first discovered this drink at a (now closed) Jamaican bar in Madison: Jolly Bob’s. Since I’m obsessed with pineapple and fun drinks, I had to try this. It’s super tasty and perfect for a warm, summery day. Be warned: these are STRONG. It lives up to it’s name: drink one or two of these and you’ll feel NO pain.

Chila Orchata Cinnamon Rum

This new twist on the original uses Chila ‘Orchata, a cinnamon rum. While you normally think of coffee drinks (or shots) when you think of cinnamon rum, it’s also great for fruity! The original Painkiller uses nutmeg to spice up the creamy drink, so I knew the cinnamon would be a great alternative!

Note: When you mix cream liquor with any juice, some separation may occur, but trust me–it’s still super tasty! No need to worry!

Any day can be a vacay with this fruity drink! Blend up this Chila 'Orchata Painkiller and sip in the sun! via @DashofEvans

Recipe Notes

When mixing a cream liquor (like the Chila 'Orchata) with juice, some separation occurs. This is perfectly fine and still tasty!

If you don’t have tall hurricane glasses like this, you can enjoy in a stemless wine glass. Check your local Goodwill, they always seem to have extras!

How was your week? Do you need a Painkiller or two also?

The way my week is going I could use one of these today lol. In all seriousness, I don’t drink mixed drinks very often but I’d like to try to make this one the next time I do make and serve some.

Oh yes, this would be perfect! You might not notice the heat after one or two of these 🙂 We used to go to SC in the summers and my hair would get HUGE from the humidity. Ha!

I am a huge fan of Rum, but I have never tried this brand. I love the marketing – the package/label. That tends to draw me in when I am shopping for new liquor to try. This drink sounds rather tasty!

I’m not a big rum drinker, but cinnamon cream sounds interesting. My BF loves rum, so he would probably enjoy it.
