This summer has been a turning point for our family. It’s funny how the preparation for a baby has made the girls really grow and mature over the last few months. They’ve been super helpful with chores and they really want to step up to see if I need anything. Well, by “they”, I mean the twins. Gabby is a whole different story! She has figured out that she’s no longer the baby of the family and has been driving us all bonkers–especially the twins. Remember the whole Copy Game? Gabby’s a PRO.
When it comes to meals, I’ve been letting the girls take the lead a bit more, especially for lunch. Let’s face it: Mama is tired sometimes! Having simple staples in the fridge for easy lunches has been a lifesaver. I always keep a variety of lunch meat, Sargento natural cheese slices and sandwich fixings in the fridge for the girls to select from. During Sunday prep day, I’ll slice cucumbers, tomatoes and organize our lunch drawer.
Aside from typical sandwich bread, we love having bagel thins in our bread box. I find that the crust is always wasted with bread, might as well try something new–sandwich thins are great too! We’ve also been fond of wraps filled with veggies, cheese, lunch meat and cream cheese.

Our new favorite is this California Club on a bagel thin. The girls can pick and choose which veggies they’d like to include and I pile them all on! Of course, being pregnant, I have to heat up my lunch meat first.

This sandwich is perfect for summer--either at home or on the go!
- 2 slices Sargento® Slices Havarti or favorite variety
- 3 ounces thinly sliced turkey breast
- 2 slices cooked bacon
- 1 Tablespoon mayo
- 1/2 avocado sliced

Toast bagel thin
-
Spread warm bagel thin with mayo. Top with 2 Sargento® Slices. Layer with additional toppings and slice in half.

Enjoy! To eat later, wrap in plastic wrap.
