Apples and pork are the perfect pair–especially with this creamy cider sauce. Say hello to fall with this family favorite pork chop dish!

Switch up your pork chops with these delicious Creamy Apple Cider chops! #ad #SmithfieldCares #SoFab This recipe is one that my mom would bring out every fall. I’ve tried dozens of pork chop recipes, but this one stands out in my mind as my favorite. The creamy apple cider sauce really makes these chops stand out! I love that you can make this meal quickly on a weeknight, but also really wow a crowd for a weekend dinner party.

Switch up your pork chops with these delicious Creamy Apple Cider chops! #ad #SmithfieldCares #SoFab Smithfield All Natural Fresh Pork has become our go-to from Walmart. Long gone are the days of dry, boring chops. These chops are naturally tender and juicy without added steroids, hormones or artificial ingredients.  Remember: if you love your pork medium rare, you should cook it to an internal temperature of 145 degrees (followed by a three-minute rest). If you like your pork a little more done, you can cook them to an internal temperature of 160 degrees. The rest time is essential!

Switch up your pork chops with these delicious Creamy Apple Cider chops! #ad #SmithfieldCares #SoFab When you’re shopping at Walmart, be sure to look for the green “All Natural” label. I always browse for markdowns, too! If you happen to find some discounted pork, just repackage and freeze it when you get home. Such a money saver. You can also save money with Ibotta right now! Save $1.00 on any Smithfield All Natural Pork variety (while supplies last).

Smithfield All Natural Pork Ibotta rebate! If you’re not able to find apple cider in your area, feel free to substitute a nice apple juice–there are some delish ones in the refrigerated section.

Apple Cider Pork Chops in a creamy sauce is PERFECT for fall! It can hit the table in less than 30 minutes during a weeknight or WOW the crowd for a weekend dinner party.
Ingredients
  • 1-2 pounds Smithfield All Natural Boneless Pork Chops
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider or good quality apple juice
  • 3 Granny smith apples , cored and sliced thinly
  • 2/3 cup half and half
Instructions
  1. Season chops with salt and pepper, toss in flour.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add chops and brown 3-5 minutes until mostly cooked. Remove from skillet. You may have to do the chops in 2 batches.
  3. Add vinegar, sugar and apple cider to the pan and whisk to dissolve sugar.
  4. Add sliced apples. Poach in liquid until they are cooked and sauce is syrupy (about 8-10 minutes).
  5. Slowly pour in half and half and stir, then return chops to pan.
  6. Cook for 2-3 minutes and let sauce thicken.
  7. Serve with boiled red potatoes and your favorite vegetable.
Recipe Notes

Right now, Walmart and Smithfield have collaborated for a Compassion for Community mission. With over $9,000 in prizing don’t miss your chance to nominate someone in your community who deserves recognition for embracing compassion, care and commitment.

This week, I’m sharing two of my favorite recipes from growing up. My mom is my hero for many reasons. She’s always there for me–listening to my crazy stories from the girls and probably thinking “ahhh, payback!”. She’s also a huge hero in the community, helping out on various boards and groups. A few years back, she was the county commissioner for the town! Growing up, she managed to work hard and get a delicious meal on the table…a feat I now know takes quite a Superwoman. Cheers to you, Mom!
