Budget Friendly Beauty Favs from Meijer

This year, I’ve been making a conscious effort to take better care of myself, especially my skin. I’m not one to wear makeup daily, but I love to try new colors and make myself look somewhat presentable when I’m going out in public.  As much as I love my yoga pants, I’m TRYING to wear real pants more. Adulting at it’s finest!

As a bargain shopper, Meijer has all of the beauty essentials I need and I love to stock up during a sale using coupons. I’ve tried more expensive makeup samples, but I’m a fan of Cover Girl, L’oreal and Maybelline. They all stay on top of trends and are easier on the pocketbook! I thought I would share a few of my favorite things–just like Maria from Sound of Music. My girls are quite obsessed with musicals right now!

This week, there are PLENTY deals to revamp your makeup bag for fall. There BOGO deals galore-basically, EVERYTHING you need is on sale! If you’re a couponer like me, check those binders for extra money off. As always, mPerks has coupons to clip, plus a beauty personal reward! I’m always shocked when I hear people at checkout say they don’t use mPerks. It’s saved me over $2200 so far this year!

My skin has been going crazy this year–I feel like a teenager sometimes! Since it’s quite sensitive, I try to stay away from harsh scrubs or cleansers. Right now my go-to is the Cerave Foaming cleanser, followed by Witch Hazel on a cotton pad and Garnier SkinActive Gel Moisturizer. On days I don’t wear makeup, this is all I do in the AM & PM! So quick and easy!

I have a really simple beauty regimen that is perfect for on-the-go Moms. You can pull yourself together in less than 10 minutes! After my face routine, I apply either BB/CC cream or the Maybelline FITme foundation with a foundation sponge. It has a medium coverage and makes your skin look flawless, no matter what! After, I brush on the loose Cover Girl truBlend Minerals powder. I’ve been using this for almost 8 years now! I follow up with Maybelline FITme blush and L’oreal bronzer. My go-to eyeshadow for everyday use is the Cover Girl trio in Cafe au Lait. My allergies are awful, so I rely on clear mascara. This e.l.f. one has one side for eyebrows and one for lashes. Only $2, too!

For date night (wait, what is that?!), I like to go a bit bolder with bright lip and mascara. The Cover Girl Plumpify Blast Pro is perfection! I was hesitant to try the purple NYX Liquid Suede, but after playing around with it, it’s SO fun–obviously not for the carpool line though. 🙂

I get quite a few questions about my curly hair favorites, so I HAD to include this with my beauty favorites. Summer made my hair super dry, so I’m still trying to get some moisture back. For shampoo and conditioner, I love Ogx Coconut Curls. The Garnier Whole Blends Smoothing Oil smells like coconut AND cocoa (yum!) and works wonders after showers. After the oil, I use Shea Moisture Curling Gel Soufflé. It is a bit more expensive at $11, but the container lasts over 6 months! A little goes a long way. When needed, I finish with Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier spray. Are you shocked it’s not coconut scented? No wonder bees love me!

My three girls are starting to need more than just baby products (*tear*). Swimming every day all summer, they started using conditioner (Yes to Carrots Nourishing Conditioner) and more “big kid” products. The Wet brush is hands down the BEST for tangled hair. I am still shocked how well it works! After brushing their teeth, my girls use a Water Wipe to clean their face, then Purpose moisturizer. Suave is still our go-to for detangling spray–the new Purely Fun is great! Chapstick is always essential too, especially with colder weather ahead.

Be sure to check out Meijer’s Beauty Week BOGO deals! What are your beauty favs? Would you wear that purple lipstick?
