Amazon Underground: Actually FREE Apps!

posted on September 30, 20167 Comments

An ode to the Kindle Fire: it's the perfect tablet for kids! Did you know you can get FREE apps with Amazon Underground, too? #AmznUnderground #ad

Never worry about your kids ordering expensive apps again with Amazon Underground: 100% FREE apps for everyone! Choose from over 3,000 great apps.

This post isn’t sponsored by Amazon, I just love our Kindles! There are affiliate links in this post.

Whenever parents ask me the best tablet for kids, I say the Amazon Kindle–hands down! We own two that we rotate in our house for the 5 of us and it’s been a great educational tool. Not only do we get free ebooks from the local library, now Amazon has the Underground apps area in their store.

One of my pet peeves for kids’ apps is the extra charges. You get to letter D in a game, then they charge you for the rest of the alphabet. Amazon Underground is different! They have TOTALLY FREE apps. No surprise charges, all apps are completely free and great quality!

Now that the girls are older, we’re starting to delete some of the preschool and early learning apps to make room for “big kid” ones. There are ebooks and a huge range of apps for everyone, not just the little ones. We’ve found so many great new finds, including some Little Critter books and the new Visual Anatomy.

You’ll know the app is 100% free when you see the “Actually Free” banner on the photo for the app. There are over 3,000 apps to choose from! I love that I can access Amazon Underground from my Android phone, too. It’s compatible with any phones running on Android version 4.0 or greater, plus any Kindle 5th generation or newer.

Amazon Underground so many options for the family:

  • Educational Apps For Kids – Amazon Underground has over 300+ premium Education apps (Dr. Panda, Flashcard Machine, Easy French, etc.) that can be found here.
  • Kick-Start the School Year with Interactive Reading Apps from Susan Boynton, Little Critters, Dr. Seuss and more! See here.
  • Rewarding Kids w/ Gaming Apps for Great School Performance (Zootopia, My Boo, Sonic Dash, Angry Birds Rio, Fruit Ninja, etc) – other Underground  “Best Sellers” can be found here.
  • Relax and Focus with dozens of Lifestyle Apps such as White Noise Sound Machine Pro, Zen: Coloring Book for Adults, Simply Yoga, and more – can be found here.

It’s super affordable and grows with your kiddos. We’ve had ours for over 3 years and it’s in mint condition still!
