Why stick with a basic Frosé when you can add Viva XXXII Tequila and frozen watermelon? I’m kickin’ it up a notch, ya’ll!

The day I got home from the hospital after having Liam, I had a glorious box waiting for me: VIVA XXXII tequila! What a nice push present, right?! Ha! Not going to lie, I was ready for a margarita after that chaotic labor.

All summer long, I had to drool at everyone’s Frosé photos on social media and I knew that would be my first post-preggo cocktail. But then I got to thinking…why stop at just Rosé?! Add tequila and it’s a glorious combination, plus end of summer sweet watermelon. Drooling yet?

If you’re looking for a smooth, sippable tequila, VIVA XXXII is your brand. Be careful, though…it’s so smooth you might not notice it in your margarita! I am obsessed with the bottle, too! It’s mid-range price is shocking, it seriously seems like a $100+ tequila. I feel like choosing Joven (white) or Reposado (gold) is a personal preference –I tend to gravitate towards the reposado.

Since we have a crazy heatwave happening right now in the Midwest (95º+ is NOT normal for September), bust out your blender and try this! If you’re not a watermelon fan, sub frozen strawberries or peaches.

Watermelon Frosé-Rita

This is the perfect combo: Rosé and VIVA XXXII into a frozen slushie. Warning: this drink is dangerous! With tequila so smooth and weather steaming hot, one isn't enough!

Course: Drinks
Servings: 2 Drinks
Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Frozen Watermelon*
  • 1 Cup Ice
  • 1 Cup Rosé Wine
  • 4 Oz VIVA XXXII Tequila, reposado style
  • 1 teaspoon agave nectar
  • 2 limes 1, sliced - 1, juiced
  • Sugar + Salt for rim
Instructions
  1. In a blender, add Rosé, ice, juice of one lime, watermelon, agave and VIVA XXXII tequila. Blend until smooth, adding more ice if not slushie enough.

  2. Using a stemless wine or margarita glass, trace the rim with a slice of lime. Dip in a sugar/salt combination on a plate.

  3. Slowly pour the cocktail into 2 glasses. Garnish with a lime...and extra tequila float if you want!

Recipe Notes

*Not a fan of watermelon? Sub frozen strawberries or peaches.

If you have a crowd (or a rough week), double or triple the batch!

Have you tried VIVA XXXII Tequila? What drink would you make with it?
