Part of adulting is having a few great appetizers up your sleeve. You know, the ones that are sure to wow the crowd every time you bring it to a party. I always bring some form of cheese to a party–it must be the Wisconsin Badger in me. From queso to brie, I have the cheese portion of your party covered!

This appetizer is what Rachael Ray calls a “fancy fakeout”. The sight of it brings “ooohs” and “aaaahhhs”, but it truly couldn’t be easier to make. Gotta love simple recipes!

I absolutely adore the combination of sweet and heat. Smucker’s Fruit & Honey Strawberry Jalapeno Fruit Spread does the combo perfectly. I cannot wait to use this spread for my other signature party appetizer: meatballs. Stay tuned! The spread is naturally sweetened with honey, not sugar. If spice isn’t your thing, the Fruit & Honey Blueberry Lemon or Triple Berry varieties are fabulous too!

To go along with the baked brie, Wasa Multigrain Crispbreads are essential. You need something that can hold up for spreading and dipping! Not only are they a low calorie, crunchy snack, they have the Whole Grain Counsel seal right on the package. These crispbreads can be kept whole or broken into rustic style pieces. On a recent trip to Walmart, we picked up both the spread and the crispbread, along with our regular favorite groceries.

Strawberry Jalapeño Baked Brie
Ingredients
  • 1 wheel of Brie
  • 1/4 cup Smuckers Strawberry Jalapeño Spread
  • 1/4 cup almond slivers , toasted
  • 1/4 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1 package Wasa Multigrain Crispbreads
  • Optional cheese plate sides: spiralized apples and almonds. Whatever you prefer!
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375º.
  2. Unwrap brie. Trim off outer casings with a parting knife. It's okay if you don't get all of it removed.
  3. In a small bowl, combine fruit spread, strawberries and almond slivers. Set aside.
  4. Place brie in a small, oven safe dish. I used a mini-cast iron skillet.
  5. Spoon fruit spread mixture over the top of the brie.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, or until heated through and bubbling.
  7. Serve immediately with Wasa Crispbread and favorite cheese plate sides.

I recently heard about baked brie and I have got to try this. I think I’m definitely adding some sweet heat to it with this fruit spread as well! [client]

I am OBSESSED with baked brie, but I have never had it like this before. The strawberry sounds like it would balance out the jalapeno flavor in a unique way. Definitely going to have to remake this one! #client

I haven’t tried this recipe yet. The Strawberry Jalapeno Baked Brie is easy to make. I love strawberries and so do my kids. I will make dessert and serve it to my kids after dinner. Looks good and tasty.

Oh wow. That looks amazing. I think I must have been from Wisconsin in a previous life because I. Love. Cheese. (Except for the stinky blue kind, lol) I love brie and using the strawberry jalapeno combination for the baked brie sounds delicious.
