Need a drink in a pinch? This 5-Minute Sangria is your new BFF. And it’s soooo good.
Sangria is my jam. If I’m invited to a gathering, I bring at least one pitcher and I always go home with empty containers. Having a quick and easy party cocktail recipe on hand is essential. As much as I love fun drinks, a pre-made ready to go drink is SUCH a lifesaver.
My past recipes for sangria have used Crystal Light, but I thought it was time to switch it up. If you’re not a fan of diet lemon-lime pop, just sub a flavored sparkling water!
As I’m enjoying the last weekend of the year, I’ve started to reflect on everything that has happened and I’m really excited for 2016. Don’t you feel like this year FLEW by? For New Years, we are heading back to Wisconsin for a few days. It will be crazy to be back in Madison for NYE again. To be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of the holiday–it’s so expensive and everyone has the highest expectations.
This sangria recipe can be made in 5 minutes…or less and gets tastier as it sits. Once you have the base of fruit, you can keep making additional pitchers once it’s empty. The fruit is good for almost a week!
- 1 bottle red wine
- 1 cup blackberry brandy
- 12 oz diet lemon-lime pop
- 1 orange , sliced
- 1 apple , chopped
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Ice
-
In a large pitcher, add cut fruit to the bottom, leaving some for garnish. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Stir.
-
Slowly pour brandy and wine into pitcher. Stir.
-
Fill wine glass with ice and a slice of orange. Add sangria half way up, then top with lemon-lime pop.
-
Garnish with a shake of cinnamon.
If you don't like diet lemon-lime pop, substitute your favorite flavored sparkling water.
What are your plans for NYE? Do you have a go-to party cocktail?
