Happy National Cookie Day! Of all of the foodie “holidays”, this is one of my favorites. Cookies are my thing, for sure! For over 40 years, Otis Spunkmeyer has been a household name, yet their products have NEVER been available in the grocery store. Isn’t that crazy? You can buy their cookies at club stores or through your school fundraisers, but that’s it….until January! At BlogHer Food in November, I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of all of the goodies Otis Spunkmeyer has coming soon to grocery stores in January and I was blown away. You guys are in for a treat come January, thats for sure!! My absolute favorite is the Chocolate Chink cookie. Soft, chewy and filled with big chunks of chocolate–perfect for dunking in milk. These would be a Santa favorite for sure, too!
They have a “No Funky Stuff” promise which means all ingredients on the label are ones you know. This is super comforting as a parent who likes to keep an eye on what their little ones are eating. As you can see from the photo above, the twins LOVE these cookies.
Many schools have a policy where you can only bring store bought treats for snacks. This makes complete sense since there are so many allergies now, but it always makes me sad as a parent to not be able to bake up tasty treats for holidays and birthdays. These cookies are as close to homemade as you can get–I cannot wait to bring these in for a snack in my girls’ classrooms! There will also be a BIG cookie you can bake up. Hello, perfect for decorating with icing!
Don’t you love their fun vintage inspired packaging? Totally caught my eye!
