Heat + pregnancy can be rough! I was there last summer and I know all of you pregnant Mamas are feelin’ it! Here are some frosty mocktails to help you unwind.

Since I know SO many pregnant ladies right now, I thought I’d share these mocktail recipes. With the heat rising here in the Midwest and BBQs happening galore, I know it’s hard to not enjoy a frosty beverage. Summer is sangria or margarita time!

Obviously, being pregnant puts a halt on delish beverages, but it doesn’t stop the cravings. I have a list of EASY mocktails that will make you ALMOST forget there’s not a drop of alcohol in them.

First up: Strawberry Mock-a-Rita. This is my go-to and SO frosty and delicious. Best part? It’s quite healthy and chock full of Vitamin C. Feel free to sub in a frozen peaches, cherries, or a berry blend. For those who can enjoy alcohol, rum or tequila is great for this!

Strawberry Frozen Mock-a-Rita
Ingredients
  • 3 medium limes plus 1 for garnish
  • 1 orange
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar or honey
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • Lemon-lime pop of choice
  • Optional: kosher salt & sugar to rim glasses
Instructions
  1. Rim 2 mason jars with a mixture of sugar and salt. This can easily be done by swiping the rim with a cut lime, then rolling rim onto a plate covered with 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon salt. Set glasses aside.
  2. Juice limes and orange into a pour-able container. Whisk in agave nectar to sweeten. Taste to see if extra is needed.
  3. Using a blender, add frozen strawberries, ice and citrus juice. Blend until ice is smooth.
  4. Pour into glass until 3/4 full. Top with lemon-lime pop. Stir.
  5. Garnish with lime wedge.
Recipe Notes

Makes 2 large mason jars or 4 rocks glasses. If you'd like just one, save some citrus juice and half the frozen strawberries.

Ocean Spray offers mocktails, too. I loved these last summer when I was pregnant with Liam. They can be enjoyed right from the bottle, or you can doctor them up. I loved to add fresh fruit and a dash of cinnamon to the sangria or sparkling water to the bellini.

Aside from mocktails, there are plenty of fun non-alcoholic options out there. I love Fre Wine, which can be found at Target…we all know you’re there weekly looking at baby stuff anyway. The Moscato and Red blend are fantastic. As far as non-alcoholic beers go, there aren’t any that are knock-your-socks-off amazing, but I have found adding a lemon slice makes it feel more summery…a splash of lemonade is great for a shandy too.
