I love takeout, but with our budget, we only go out to eat about once a month. When I’m craving something, I’ve just learned to make it myself. Having a dozen or so MYO takeout recipes on hand is essential! While I can make my own fried rice, I’ve truly fallen in love with the Ling Ling line of frozen fried rices. There are quite a few varieties, but the Chinese-Style Vegetable or Thai-Style Chicken are the favorites.

We’ve found that  our house of 5 (plus my hungry baby belly) needs two packets of rice, or one whole box. It’s a pretty hearty meal, but for a super hungry crowd, I serve with teriyaki grilled chicken and roasted broccoli. The Ling Ling potstickers are SO good, also.

YUM! via @dashofevansI like to use my wok to get those extra crispy bits of rice, just like our favorite Chinese restaurant. The microwave method is quick and easy, too. We love the Chinese-Style Vegetable because it has veggies we actually like in it–not a bunch of random fillers. Edamame is our favorite! With the baby coming in less than 5 weeks (eeek!), it’s great to have items like this in the freezer for easy dinners.

I love that I don’t have to question the ingredients of our meal, too! For a fun Family Friday, whip up some fried rice and potstickers, then pick a movie or game to all play together. It’s a great way to unwind as a family.

Want to try Ling Ling fried rice? Here’s a $2 off coupon! It’s found right in the frozen entree section at your grocery store. I’ve noticed it goes on sale quite frequently.

Have you tried any Ling Ling products? What’s your favorite MYO Takeout Meal?

Any idea when it’s coming back? I used to eat it once or more a week and now it’s nowhere.
