Laundry 101: Removing Tough Stains

posted on October 31, 20161 Comment

Some stains can’t quite fit in the washing machine–so what do you do? I have some tips for you!

Laundry 101: How to Remove Tough Stains Outside of the Washer via @DashOfEvansWhen you have 3 kids and 2 dogs, there are frequently messes that cannot fit inside a washing machine. I don’t need to go into too much detail with that one…but I will say we aren’t getting new carpet until the girls are MUCH older.  Outside of the washing machine, Biz has SO many uses!

Remember, before you clean any larger surface, do the spot check…especially with carpet or rugs. Find a small corner which isn’t highly noticeable.

Aside from carpet, remember that Biz is also a great bleach alternative cleaner. We have a white farm style sink that stains SO easily. I like to fill up the sink with warm water and add a splash of Biz. After letting it soak for 15-20 minutes, I drain the water and wipe the sides clean. Sparkling new!

To create a carpet stain spray, combine water and 2 tablespoons of Biz in a large spray bottle. Use it to spot treat any stains, brushing with a scrub brush after letting sit for 20 minutes. After dried, vacuum over the spot.

Once, my daughter went crazy on her bedroom wall with Crayons. I put biz in a large bowl of warm water and wiped down the walls with a washcloth, in gentle circle motions. It removed the Crayon instantly! This may not work for all marker and crayon stains, but I’ve had great luck using it!

My final favorite use is to clean our car. Instead of paying a ton of money to get my van cleaned, I do it myself! First, I take out all of my rugs and spray them with my Biz cleaner spray bottle(see above). I let them sit for 20 minutes while I finish the rest of the cleaning. I also bring out a large bowl of warm water and an old rag to wipe down all surfaces on the dash, steering wheel and radio area. Be sure that the rag isn’t too wet! After I vacuum the carpet, I spray with the Biz spray to refresh–it smells FAB! Finally I wipe down our seats–kids create SUCH a sticky mess.

How do you clean out of the machine messes? Do you have any tips for us?
