What do you do to get those essential ME moments? With a busy schedule, any little moment could count. I have tried to become more conscious of how I spend my time. Being a blogger, it’s hard to stay away from emails and social media, yet I don’t want my kiddos to see their Mom in front of the computer at every moment of the day. When I’m cooking dinner at night, I send the girls downstairs to play and I pump my favorite music (usually 80s-90s) and dance away while cooking. It doesn’t seem like much, but it’s a HUGE stress reliever!
Another little ME moment I’ve begun to treasure is my 10 minute coffee and breakfast break. After dropping of the twins at school, I have a 2 hour window until I have to pick up Gabby. Before firing up the laptop, I’ve started making sure I eat SOMETHING. Before, I would find myself famished at 1pm, realizing I’ve only had water all day. I love yogurt because it’s not too filling, but it feels like a special treat. My new favorite is the Oh My Yog line by Stonyfield. It’s a layered yogurt with fantastic flavors like: Pacific Coast Strawberry or Madagascar Vanilla Bean. I love to top the Apple Cinnamon with some granola to enjoy with my coffee. Simple, quick ME moment!
Last month, I was able to check out an item from the prAna clothing line. I will admit, the prices are WAY over my budget, but it felt nice to pick out something for me. It took me over 30 minutes to pick out one item–there are SO many cute pieces! Now that I’ve seen the quality of the organic cotton line, they are definitely on my wish list! I ended up with the Ginger Top in an off-white, oatmeal color and it’s a new staple in my wardrobe. It goes great with fun printed yoga pants or dressed up with jeans and boots.
Now here’s the FUN part! I’m giving away ONE FREE prAna ITEM (up to $99!) for one of my readers. You can have fun picking out an item for yourself! Simply enter the giveaway below. If you feel like shopping the prAna site NOW, there is free shipping and 15% off for Dash of Evans readers with code: JBYF15DOE!
What do you do for a ME moment?
This post is sponsored by Stonyfield, as I am a member of the Clean Plate Club. All opinions are my own.
Those yogurts sound really good! I need to find a way to get more me time, but it’s so, so hard! Dancing and listening to music while cooking is the best. I used to do it all the time. Maybe I need to start again. 🙂
You should–although I do find the kitchen quite a mess. I need to stop dancing with the spoon! 🙂 ME moments are almost impossible with little ones, I totally get it!
I have started working out while the kids play. It’s me time without the guilt, which has been awesome. Plus, they love stretching with me!
Such a great idea! I do have a little window in the morning while Gabby is at school, but I always find myself doing work. I should just workout!
Kitchen dancing is the best! It is so important to make time to relax and recharge. I use my workout time to get let my mind wander and try not to worry about the next thing I have to do!
Yes, I love to just let my mind wander while I’m doing cardio!
My favorite ME moment is when I have time to curl up and read a good book 🙂
ME TOO! What are you reading now? I need new ideas! I just started Judd Apatow’s book “Sick in the Head” with his interviews through the years of comedians. Super funny so far!
Excited I found your blog! Ready for your amazing recipes and view points! And me time… Yikes I can’t even remember what I did with it when I had it… Sew and read.. But not in a long while now!
Yay! I’m glad you found me! Time is SO hard to find with little ones! I just got a sewing machine and I have no clue where to even start–I may need some pointers from you!
For a ME moment I sit down and stretch and do yoga. : )
Isn’t yoga the best? I love to take even just 10 minutes to stretch. It’s a great stress reliever!
I usually go for a run
I have me moments in the morning before anyone in the house wakes up. It’s quiet, and I can sip my coffee and enjoy some time to think and prepare for the day.
Thanks for the chance to win!
