Fresh Thyme opens today in Grand Rapids! The location is on 2740 Burton Street. Check out some of my favorite finds and what Fresh Thyme is all about!
Many people have never heard of Fresh Thyme, but the Grand Rapids store marks the 5th location in Michigan! The grand opening is today and you’ll want to check out this amazing store–but be prepared for a crowd.
What is Fresh Thyme exactly? It’s a grocery store that features regular and organic products, fresh produce, bulk items, a HUGE meat department and more! I went to the media preview last night and I could have spent over an hour checking everything out!
The sale prices on produce are AMAZING, but other items remain at around average prices. Be sure to pick up the $0.77/lb asparagus and $0.99/lb strawberries!
You’ll have to check out everything for yourself, but here are 5 things I loved!
ONE: The various bulk sections.
Buying in bulk saves TONS of money and I can’t wait to fill up my mason jars with rice, oatmeal, beans and more. The also offer bulk spices and oils!
I have found reusable shaker lids for my mason jars helps keep everything organized and easy to use.
I store dry herbs and spices I buy in bulk in 4 ounce mason jars. Walmart has a large selection of budget friendly options!
TWO: The salad bar.
They offer both an amazing salad bar, plus an olive and pepper cart. The roasted red peppers are SO good. I love to be able to buy olives or antipasti items like that in bulk as I need them. If you’re close, the salad bar is a great option for a quick, healthy lunch!
THREE: The amazing fish selection.
I’m always looking to incorporate more fish into our diets, but it’s not always budget friendly. I was impressed with the sale prices they had in the fish department. I got two large white fish fillets for $9.00! They’re on sale for $5.99/lb which you never see around here! There are quite a few different marinade options that caught my eye too!
FOUR: Double Ad day on WEDNESDAYS!
Unlike most stores in the area, Fresh Thyme has a new ad released every Wednesday. Instead of saying “buh-bye” to the old ad quickly, they let you shop BOTH ads every Wednesday. What does this mean? You can get the best prices of both weeks! How cool is that?!
FIVE: Rock bottom produce sales.
Like I said before, not ALL produce is super cheap–but the sale prices are unbeatable. This week, we stocked up on clementines, strawberries, onions, asparagus and oranges. I’m thinking Wednesday will be my Fresh Thyme shopping day to load up on the best produce prices!
We can’t wait to return to Fresh Thyme! It’s going to be a great addition to Grand Rapids. I just brushed the surface of all they have to offer. There’s a huge meat case, frozen foods and dairy, fresh pressed juice….I could go on and on. The organic beauty section was something that I know will be a hit with many people in the area–many of those products are hard to find!
