Can’t decide between sangria and a margarita? Don’t worry, I’ve combined them for you! Nice and refreshing–perfect for warm weather! We’ve officially made it out of winter and that means one thing: PATIO TIME! Is there anything better than sipping on a refreshing cocktail outside with the sun shining down on you? Especially after a long winter. I’m pretty sure we’re not going to have any more snow this season. Fingers crossed!
Sangria is my jam. I always make a pitcher or two for a party–it’s my go-to cocktail. For one, it’s super easy to make. Plus budget friendly! Have you ever thought to put tequila in your sangria? This happened one time last summer and now it’s my second go-to for parties. Usually I use red wine, but something made me try sweet Moscato from Aldi last weekend and now this is our new favorite!
We’ll call Sangarita Sangria’s fun cousin. Combining two favorites margarita and sangria can only lead to great things, right? I highly recommend mixing up a pitcher for Mother’s Day instead of mimosas or for your next BBQ! Once the first pitcher is gone, simply re-use the citrus to make a whole new batch. It can be served immediately or chilled in the fridge for up to 2 days. Let’s be honest, it’s not gonna last that long though!
I used Indian River Select grapefruit juice to add a fresh flavor to the drink. Aside from grapefruit, there’s also quite a few varieties of orange juice. SO tasty! It’s 100% juice from Florida and it seriously tastes fresh squeezed. Head on over to the website to find a location near you that sells it.
- 2 cups Moscato of choice- white or pink
- 1/2 cup tequila
- 1/4 cup triple sec
- 1/2 cup Indian River Select Grapefruit Juice
- 1 grapefruit , thinly sliced
- 1 lime , thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup Diet Squirt or 7Up
- Garnish: salt and sugar rim , lime wedge
-
Thinly slice grapefruit and limes.
-
In a large pitcher, add grapefruit and lime slices.
-
Pour 2 cups wine, grapefruit juice, triple sec and tequila in the pitcher. Stir.
-
Add salt/sugar rim to glass (optional)
-
Fill stemless wine or rocks glass with ice. Pour 3/4 full with sangarita. Top with Diet Squirt.
You can make the pitcher ahead of time and let the citrus slices marinade in the sangarita. Feel free to make another batch right on top of the empty pitcher, using the same citrus!
What’s your favorite warm weather cocktail?
