This post is in collaboration with Meijer. All opinions are my own!

The Meijer LPGA golf tournament is coming to Grand Rapids next week and I am SO excited about the special chef events! One of my favorite daytime shows is The Chew and I LOVE Carla Hall. To honor her coming to town next Saturday, I am sharing her Music City Steak recipe. Guys, this is GOOD.

Is there anything better than a perfectly grilled steak? I think not! Treat your dad to a delicious, juicy steak this Father’s Day. You really can’t go wrong with whiskey–especially for Dad’s special day! The marinade of brown sugar, soy and garlic gives this steak and amazing flavor. We were literally fighting over the last bites of this steak–I let Ricky win 🙂

My favorite trick for items like asparagus or green beans is to make a quick foil packet. Season as normal, then tightly seal a foil “envelope” and the veggies steam perfectly on the grill, while also getting the smoky flavor and grill marks.

Every year, the Meijer LPGA tournament hits Grand Rapids with 144 of top female golfers in the world. A new addition to this year, The Grand Taste offers food and beverage samples from local restaurants, breweries and Meijer vendors. There are also three celebrity chef events with Carla Hall, Marcus Samuelsson and Dean Fearing! Running June 14-19th, there is plenty of action to check out if you’re in the area.

What’s your favorite grilling recipe? Do you have any big plans for Father’s Day?

Ummm….alcohol will cook your meat. Advise no longer than 30 minutes marinade time

It does tenderize the meat, but I haven’t found the whiskey to cook it. Maybe since there isn’t anything acidic paired? Marinade however long you want 🙂

Ashleigh – made these tonight with pork. I’m not a big fan of spicy so I did like maybe 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes.

DELICIOUS! I now have a new favorite pork chops recipe 🙂 and I will definitely try it with steak at some point too. Yum.

I like to grill over medium heat on a charcoal grill, usually on the side of the flame. If you have a pellet grill, try around 400º.

Of all the recipes I have gotten from Pinterest this one by far is my favorite. Only thing I changed was, I used Splenda brown sugar instead of regular. The remaining marinade I added some corn starch and made a sauce. Can’t wait to make this again

Question do you think this Marinade would be good with chicken?
My dad is allergic to red meat… it’s so sad. Trying to find new chicken recipes.
