Refreshing Knickerbocker Blueberry Gin mixed with smashed berries, peaches and soda water. Perfect for summer, especially 4th of July!
Since the kids are out of school today, it means officially has started! I am ready for late nights on the patio, grilling and all things outdoors. It was a long winter here in Michigan–like snow in April long–so we are all coming out of the long hibernation, ready for some SUN.
If you haven’t noticed, blueberry cocktails are popping up everywhere. I first took notice when I was out in Chicago with my friends Melissa and Stefanie. Melissa ordered a blueberry vodka soda and I was quite skeptical. I was picturing an overly sweet, fake berry taste. It was SO good.
I adore gin, especially the New Holland Knickerbocker line. Aside from being local to the area here in Michigan, it’s SO smooth. I can sip in right on the rocks. When I got the opportunity to try the Knickerbocker Blueberry variety, I jumped on the chance!
While gin isn’t for everyone, I really think most people can get on board for a Smash. The mashed berries and peaches really mellow out the “pine” flavor of gin. It turns into such a refreshing drink!
When the kiddos go to bed, Ricky and I like to sip cocktails outside to catch up on the day. Mason jars are my go to because they are a shaker and cup in one. Just put a reusable lid on and shake!

Kick off summer with a SMASH--with gin, berries and peaches. SO refreshing and a perfect sip for patio weather. Knickerbocker Blueberry gin is a must try!
- 2 oz Knickerbocker Blueberry Gin
- 4 whole fresh strawberries
- 10 frozen blueberries or fresh!
- 2 peach slices skin removed
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- Soda Water
-
In the bottom of a mason jar, add berries and sugar. Muddle (or use a fork) berries until almost mashed.
-
Add Blueberry Gin, ice and peach slices to the jar. Cover and shake for 20 seconds.
-
Slowly top of the jar with soda water. Stir and ENJOY!
You can use any sparkling water or pop in place of soda water. Tonic would be great too!
